World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like crit chance and PvE Damage.

For example, a weapon with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

Item upgrading costs crests and the item's current level. The cost increases as the level of the item upgrader kit increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a stat boost or Item Upgrading add a bonus effect. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for Item Upgrading instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, which allows players to make stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than are required to achieve the same upgrade level through normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much it will improve after a future reset.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item upgrader kit. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also offer the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, and include any existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are also a few rare Glyphs that can be obtained as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They may also consider placing them near their critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The item upgrading system lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing upgrade item Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item can become more expensive even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times to increase their value, allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by an increment of 10. This item is highly valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of its unupgraded counterpart.

Requirements

item upgrade upgrading allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally the item will be deducted any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that, should a weapon gain an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item may have five upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they might require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
