World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

Item upgrade allows players to raise the item level of weapons and armor that are equippable. This boosts the effectiveness of the gear, as well as sometimes adding buffs or rerolling an affix.

Any item upgrader NPC can be located in the game. In general NPCs can be found in capital cities or major questing areas. You can also find upgrades for items in dungeons that feature high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs in the garrisons of your faction.

The World of Warcraft item upgrade system lets players upgrade the level of weapons, armor and trinkets. The process is similar to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the appropriate currency, players must visit an NPC for upgrading items to complete the process.
