The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might come across. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it will return to its docking station and automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it started. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes about three hours to fully recharge.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers the cost of maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and to move around the room and sweep the area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for most households, but it also fits in well next to the table for a coffee or shelves where you can wave it around like a magic device.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for some shoppers.
