It's thus susceptible to become stuck on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

However, it's a good choice for those who want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly unfinished home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you are at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba than the competitors' boxes This robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's the only robot vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our tests, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

Like other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface, and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite an eerily noisy device that could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's extremely powerful however it will cost you more and make more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum cleaner uk mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned by using the app or voice control. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good robot vacuum option. Additionally, a recharge and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is ideal for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price suggests. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through a mapping run which collects information about your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to create a spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for greater efficiency. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.
