WoW Item Upgrades

Item upgrades--more commonly known as "upping"--are enchantments and items that can be applied to weapons and armor pieces, increasing their power. These upgrade items add a number of points to the level gauge for the item, with their costs increasing in proportion to their popularity.

A perfectly formed version of this armor is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community for its ability to minimize weapon damage.

Type-restricted upgrades

Upgrades are a vital component of the equipment crafting process. Upgrades can improve an item's stats or increase its strength, or even provide an added benefit. They can also alter the appearance of an item. Certain upgrades are universal, while others have specific rules for armor and weapons. A bad upgrade can destroy a weapon that was otherwise fantastic, and even make it unusable.

In general you can only upgrade an item of equipment to the level of its top-level counterpart. You can only upgrade item helms up to the highest level. Weapons, on the other hand can be upgraded to the level of a sword. However, this doesn't increase the weapon's damage output and can reduce its value for trading.

To upgrade an item, you need to spend flightstones and crests. The amount of both depend on the item level and slot. For instance, an upgrade to a sword will cost more flightstones than an upgrade to a cloak or bracers. You may also get discounts on the number flightstones or crests needed to upgrade an item level upgrade.

When you upgrade an item, it fills its diamond-shaped indicator. Each step increases the Tier level by one-third. Tier 3 is the highest level. It can take several upgrades to get to this level, depending on the item. It is important to note that any procedures that might mount a disk should not be performed during an upgrade. In addition, you need to ensure that the disk being upgraded is not used as a system disk.

Enchantment is a feature that lets you transform white or Common items into rare or blue ones. Eleanor's Enchantment Shop located in the Capital District is where you can do it. This method does not add a gem or rune slot to the equipment. However, it does change its dimensions. It makes the equipment larger by the size two categories smaller. For example, an armored Stormtrooper armor is Medium, and the Blaster Pistol Small.

Universal upgrades

Universal upgrades are upgrades that can be utilized on any kind of equipment. This includes weapons and armor. The upgrade components are usually random drops, however they may also be obtained by completing Side Quests. Universal upgrades can be either temporary or permanent, and can be combined with Power Ups. They can be linear or branching.

Universal Upgrades begin when "internal technology" can give sentient beings new capabilities they are extremely unlikely to develop naturally. Implants and prostheses are both examples of internal technology. This type of upgrade is different from medical internal technology that aims to restore the natural capabilities. It is the start of the process that will alter civilizations fundamentally. The universal upgrade is a tense process that may take a long time to complete. The process can be divided in two categories that are complete success and partial failure.

It's similar to the way that resort upgrades function at Disney and Universal. In the case of WDW, they usually happen due to operational reasons like rooms being overbooked or not available. In the case of Universal the reason could be to move guests from one resort to another one that is open. Unlike Runes, Sigils and Jewels that are only applicable to specific types of equipment (armor weapons, trinkets or weapons) universal upgrades can be applied to any type of gear. They can also be applied to several items at a time. This makes them more versatile than other upgrade types. However, this flexibility could create problems when upgrading items in the specific gear path since it will increase the level of each item in all pieces in that path.

Jewels

Jewels can be incorporated into weapons, armor or other accessories. The gems and reagents used to create them give different stat bonuses and secondary effect. Jewels can also be made at a jewelry table using 1 gem and 5 of the same chemical reagents to create a gem of greater or lesser tier; this process is the same as upgrading a gemstone using a table for gem crafting.

Jewel Tiers are determined by the number of modifiers they have. Jewels of higher tiers are more than lower-tier jewels. The primary effect is determined by a jewel's tier, whereas the secondary effect is random. Players can use luck potions to increase their chances of obtaining better secondary effects.

Jewels can also be added to items with matching sockets, just like other upgrade components. For example Garnet Pebble (gemstone) and an Adorned Garnet Jewel (jewel) both add strength, however the Garnet Pebble will only increase regular hits while the Garnet Jewel also boosts the player's powerful attacks. Jewels can be put into every level of armor, weapon and accessory slots, and some trinkets with exotic or lower rarity which require a slot to be empty.

Like other DM mechanics, gems aid to ensure that items feel special to their owners. With a range of different upgrade paths, jewels allow players to modify their equipment and choose the best combination for their needs. They can also upgrade their existing equipment with new jewels in the event that the original set of a certain type is no longer optimal.

Requirements

The upgrade level is shown in an upper bar on the top of the screen. the upgrade type bonus is shown below it.

The player will need bring the item to the upgrader, who will then explain how to upgrade the item. The player must then supply the correct currency and, if required additional materials. These requirements are determined by the level of the item upgrade. Weapons have more stringent requirements as opposed to armor.

In addition to the required upgrade components, many upgrade recipes have an 'Acceptable Materials' list. This list outlines what other upgrade components can be used on the item, and also includes a flag that indicates whether the item upgrader mod has a guaranteed boost or other effect. This is important as the value of an upgrade may vary greatly depending on its "extras. For instance, perfectly rolled gear can be worth more than a non-upgraded model.

For the types of upgrades that require crests and valorstones, they will be listed in a separate list below the main list. The crests and valorstones needed depend on the level of the item, with weapon upgrades requiring the most Valorstones.
