How to Replace an audi key fob G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also the location of the camshaft to trigger the spark and injectors.
If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in sync with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumpy chain link in the upper timing chain. However, the error code won't appear on its own, without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit tricky as there are two different connector pins and they serve different purposes but the most effective way to test it is to measure resistance between the sensor and the ECU. If the sensor is operational, it should be reading approximately 1000 ohms. If you're having issues with this component, look for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant decrease in power. It was as if the engine was running out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. This morning i pull out the spark plugs. Three were soaked with gazoline and the fourth one was dry. When I start the engine without sparks, I put a piece of tissue on the top of each of the injector holes, the 3 drenched with gazoline pop out, but the 4th stays closed. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ i get 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is somewhere else.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged and is running fine when it is connected, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c, even if I unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is zero.
I'm not certain what to do, i think i've pretty much completely ruled out all other possibilities. But i am afraid i might have missed something. Please let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump on the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style sender is identical to the G4 and Audi Key both function in the 80 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars so you can easily find one at a wrecking yard or at a parts store. Test them out to do - just put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black connector's end). They should be infinite Ohms.
