World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of weapons, armors and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template ends in %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the level of the item rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra impact while they're being used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level for a component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods, can only be applied only once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well as some non-ascended items. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or item Upgrader kit completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use and also through Faction Crypt raids. When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new Item Upgrader kit also has its own set bonus. This could be a drawback, as the item can become more expensive even if you do not require it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item level upgrade. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will have the level 1 base, and a completely different set of bonuses. This can be useful, but should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, giving players the ability to alter their gear. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item are determined by its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. For example, a common equipment item upgrader mod could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons.
