The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as a dirt detectors) are a plus.

Be sure to examine the brushes of your robot for tangled hair and large particles, and wash them when required. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the bottom. This can reduce the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we have tested. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have the feature of Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare and are particularly effective at cleaning pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and best robot hoover shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also quiet and works while you are at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. It's also less effective in mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on well and aren't able to take on dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle however. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact sleek and stylish vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo uses advanced sensor technology to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted room, which helps prevent cross-contamination. The flex arm is perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to sweep the entire house with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-notch, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds, shoes and cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks more like a regular Roomba unit than the boxy units of the competition. It is one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It features advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's best robot hoover that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it boasts the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This can be a concern in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it will cost you more and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end best robot hoover mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning machine like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, and cleans and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the vacuum's power and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.

For bigger homes, it's worth opting for a model that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or voice controls. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be very useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you might think from its price. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has an oscillating motion that cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tested. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also louder than other top robot vacuums we've test. It also comes with an app that's not as intuitive, and a smaller base station that can't double as a bin to empty.
