WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

The upgraded gear typically has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like Eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. The Best item upgrader used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each several weeks.

For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrade gear you have available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to rings and trinkets that fill multiple slots on the character that will be able to benefit from the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with top-quality equipment.
